Dr. Chawla is the only TMJ specialist in the area and we have a team of friendly and dedicated professionals to make you comfortable throughout your visit. She is highly skilled and has over 25 years of experience in accurately diagnosing and treating even some of the most challenging and chronic TMJ and Orofacial Pain problems including neuralgias and neuropathies. She is a recognized authority in her field and has also been able to treat patients with chronic migraine and tension-type headaches who were unable to find relief elsewhere. We serve patients in the beautiful pacific northwest region and have two convenient locations in the greater Portland metro area. Both our locations are in close proximity to national hotel chains for the added convenience of our out of town patients.
We can help you in the diagnosis and management of the following conditions:
Temporomandibular Disorders. These problems can originate from your TMJ and/or the surrounding structures like muscles and ligaments. These can manifest as pain in the jaw joint, clicking/locking of the jaw or muscle pain and spasms.
Headaches. You could be suffering from migraine, tension type headache or cluster headache or any other type of headache from which it has been hard to find relief
Toothache of non-dental origin. What may seem like a tooth ache can sometime have nothing to do with your teeth. The pain felt the teeth may be stemming from muscle pain, neuralgia/neuropathic pain, a neurovascular problem or something else.
Nerve pain or Neuralgia. These include trigeminal neuralgia, atypical facial pain/atypical odontalgia/trigeminal neuropathic pain.
Burning mouth syndrome. This can be caused by a number of factors including nutritional deficiency, dry mouth, infection, stress or may be due to neuropathic pain.
